Jaunpils Castle is one of the few medieval castles that has perfectly preserved its original appearance. Jaunpils Castle was built in 1301. as a fortress of the Livonian Order. The castle was built by Gottfried von Rog, the master of the Livonian Order. The castle was ruled by the von der Recke family for more than 350 years.
Today, the castle, which is surrounded on three sides by water, is home to the entire social life of Jaunpils. The scenic surroundings and domestic folklore are the backdrop for tourist attractions. Together with monks, jokes, lords and servants you will be able to become a full-fledged medieval hero.

Jaunpils Castle has a special aura, ancient walls and luxurious medieval apartments, which will allow everyone to enjoy a real medieval atmosphere and feel like a baron. Luxurious apartments in the castle were created already in the 17th century, when the barons improved the castle of Reke Knights, adapting it to the comforts of the noble family. Today it is possible to visit both medieval apartments and modern rooms, a total of 79 people can be accommodated.
The hotel rooms can accommodate an additional 34 people in extra beds (18 rollaway beds and 16 mattresses). A larger number of overnight stays have the opportunity to use the accommodation of Jaunpils Castle cooperation partners.
The season is from May 1 to September 30 and December 1 to January 1,
but as a low season from January 2 – April 30 and October 1 to October 30. November.
