This year, Jaunpils is writing a special page in history – Jaunpils Castle is turning 725 years old! Seven centuries, countless stories, legends and people who have made this place one of the most special in Latvia. And that is more than enough reason to celebrate… in fact – 725 reasons to celebrate!
For one day, Jaunpils will transform into a real medieval city, where knights and princesses, craftsmen and musicians, gourmets and adventure seekers will meet.You are expected to:
breathtaking knightly battles,
medieval costume parade,
poetry performances and a lute player,
Latvian Shashlik Cooking Championship,
knights' tents, coin tossing and breakout game,
activities for the whole family – inflatable attractions, horses, water balloons, bubbles, face painting and much more,
evening concerts with Liepāja singing actors “Aģenti” and the legendary band “Otra Puse”,
party until the night with the “Country Musicians”,
and at midnight – a grand festive fireworks display over Lake Jaunpils!Throughout the day, there will be a craft and home-made market, a castle museum, a church, a watermill, a Crafts House, and many other festive stops, where everyone will find their own adventure.
Come with your family, friends, and neighbors, because this will be a day when history will come alive, the castle will be filled with laughter, music, and joy, and Jaunpils will once again prove that the festive spirit lives here.Because 725 years is not just an anniversary. It's a story that continues. And this year we're writing it together.
